Secantor can help you ensure that your company suitably protects employees and complies with all legal requirements. The Corporate Manslaughter and Corporate Homicide Act forces companies to be aware of their responsibilities and have a competent person to oversee health and safety issues.

If a company employs five or more people, they must have a written health and safety policy and conduct a risk assessment on the business, and take measures to reduce risks to a minimum. If they already have a policy then Secantor will review it, otherwise it will be written to suit the business.

Secantor can provide a ‘competent person’ and offer continuous support by telephone and/or email. A visit will be made to the premises annually to carry out the following:

  • Generic risk assessment and measures to reduce risks to a minimum.
  • Fire risk assessment and measures to reduce risks to a minimum
  • Continuous advice and support on contact with the enforcing authorities
  • Review and updating of health and safety policy, in line with changing legislation
  • Display screen risk assessment for all staff and a system for new staff.
  • Special risk assessments for young persons and expectant mothers, if applicable.
  • Hazardous substances risk assessment
  • Accident reporting system and assistance in contacting enforcing authorities under the Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations
  • Compliance with First Aid Requirements
  • Car fleet management if required
  • Advice on Working Time Regulations for employees and temporary workers
  • Organisation of asbestos management system if required, but excluding surveys or asbestos removal.
  • Advice on Portable Appliance testing, but excluding the actual tests.
  • Advice on occupational health if required
  • Advice on the selection, control and monitoring of contractors at the branch.
  • Assistance in compliance with the Disability Discrimination Act, including an access audit of the branch
